 EDUCATION MANAGER

The Education Manager is a position with the goal of eventually transitioning to the Education Director. We are looking for a proactive individual who is self motivated, has strong written and verbal communication skills, and has an advanced knowledge of at least one performance discipline (acting, dancing, or singing) and ideally a strong understanding of all disciplines. We are looking for someone with a desire to see GCPA educational programming expand, grow, and continue to improve.  

This is a salaried position with the expectation of 25 hours a week with additional hours possibly required at the beginning/end of each semester and surrounding GCPA’s annual fundraiser, Raise the Curtain. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree required. 

  • Experience in running artistic programming a plus but not required. 

  • 3 -5 years in arts education required. 

JOB DUTIES

  • Manage the day to day aspects of education programming, including but not limited to:

    • Managing studio software (creating seasons, handling registration requests)

    • Creating and sending all communication with classes, including welcome emails, demonstration reminders and more.

    • Track registration status on an ongoing basis for all seasons

    • Lead the charge on student on-boarding, including working with Marketing on ad campaigns and taking all students through our basic onboarding process.

    • Actively and consistently working on student retention through constant communication with families, retention events, etc

    • Thoughtfully pursuing new avenues to gain students, including working with Marketing and getting information into new hands such as schools, day cares, online sites, etc. 

    • Organizing and implementing final demonstrations at the end of each session.

    • Keeping up with all education inquiries through email and voicemail.

    • Tracking attendance and following up with CrAFT students for accountability and regular students to get ahead of any concerns.

    • Manage the end of year placement process including ensuring teachers are following through and completing the Mail merge and distribution.

    • Organizing and running teacher meetings at the start of each school year and summer session. 

    • Working with the Education Director on creating seasons and providing thoughts and ideas for areas of improvement and change to increase registrations

    • Attending interviews and learning about the hiring requirements and on-boarding steps for GCPA staffing.

  • Act as Summer Camp Manager (duties to be outlined separately, but similar to the above)

  • Create summer camp season

  • Interview and staff summer interns and teaching assistants

  • Assist in Raise the Curtain, GCPA’s annual fundraiser
