GCPA is excited to welcome Broadway Legend Kerry Butler to Saint Louis to be our special guest performer this year at Raise the Curtain! Not only will event attendees get to hear Kerry perform, but a few lucky guests will have the amazing opportunity to attend a VIP meet and greet with her before the event! Don’t miss the chance to get to know this Broadway star!

Kerry Butler was born in Brooklyn, New York, and from the age of three she knew that she wanted to be an actress. She started doing commercials until her mother decided that she was too young to be acting and wanted her to have a "normal" childhood. However, Kerry's acting was not simply a childhood phase. After much begging, her mother let her return to acting when she was ten, and she's been acting ever since.     She has starred in over ten Broadway productions having won and been nominated for many awards including a Tony nomination for playing Kira in Xanadu.  Most recent Broadway roles include the three adult women in  Mean Girls and Barbara in Beetlejuice which closed in 2023.     Her voice can be heard on more than ten original cast recordings.    She has done several films and television shows - most recently the award winning film, Honor Society, and the final season  of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Her greatest joy is her family.  She married her high school friend/ scene partner Joe Mazzarino who is a puppeteer/ writer /director.    They adopted two daughters from Ethiopia and love to advocate for adoption and inclusion.    Other passions are caring for the environment and mental health.     She has recently branched out into directing theater and coaching young actors.

Kerry’s credits include: Broadway: Barbara in Beetlejuice,  OCC nomination for playing three roles in Mean Girls, Xanadu (Tony, DL Best Actress  nominations), Hairspray (Clarence Derwent Award, DD, OCC nominations), Beauty and the Beast (Dora nomination), Disaster!, Catch Me If You Can (DD nomination), Rock  of Ages, Little Shop of Horrors(OCC nomination), Les Misérables, Blood Brothers, The Best Man. Off-Broadway: Bat Boy: The Musical, The Call, Clinton The musical. Television: “30 Rock,” “The Mindy Project,” “Rescue Me,” “Law & Order,” “The Mysteries of Laura,” “White Collar,” “Blue Bloods,” “Gilmore Girls,” and the film The Miseducation of Cameron Post. Her album Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust is available on iTunes.  Instagram : kerrybutler1 tiktok: kerrybutlernyc
