Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical Jr., based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical.  It's a "big bright beautiful world" as everyone's favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek Jr. is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family. With abundant opportunities for imaginative sets and costumes, and a host of over-the-top roles, there's a part for everyone in this dazzling adventure story.

This production is formatted more like a camp, with rehearsals taking place Monday - Friday, 9am-4pm, and with additional performing arts training integrated into the rehearsal day. Performances are Friday at 7pm, Saturday at 2pm and 7pm, and Sunday at 2pm. No conflicts are allowed for Shrek.

James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece... and a rare modern classic. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

Rehearsals take place evenings and weekends, Performances Thursday - Sunday.
