Check out our Pop-Up Classes - short mini sessions with fun themes perfect for the busy theatre lover! Pop Ups are 4 weeks long and focus in on one goal or one finished piece to perform at the end. Some Pop Ups are available for registration now, and be on the look out for more to “pop up” throughout the session!

FALL POP-UP ENROLLMENT IS NOW OPEN!
Pop Up Classes are the perfect way to get your performing arts class fix without imploding your schedule. Pick up a new skill, enjoy themes you can’t find any other time in the GCPA calendar, and come back session to session as your schedule allows for something new - but always just as fun!
Four-week PopUps cost $75 for the entire session. Pop Ups are subject to the registration fee for new students. CLICK HERE for full class payment and policy information.
FALL SESSION 1: September 29 - October 25
In this creative drama class, students will transform into fairies, dragons, wizards, and other magical creatures before joining together to act out fun, imaginative stories. Each session begins with simple face painting to transform into the week’s theme, followed by fun group creative play where students create and perform their own fantastical adventures. It’s a chance to become the hero, villain, or magical being of your own story!

Dare to explore the darker side of Shakespeare! Step into the world of witches, ghosts, and haunted dreams as we bring to life the Weird Sisters, the madness of Lady Macbeth, and the ghosts that haunt King Richard III. Learn the art of the bard's scantion and put it to some of his most thrilling text, sharing your hauntingly fun scenes in a final presentation.

Step into the world of mystery and intrigue as you become the writer, director, and actor of your very own whodunit! In this four-week class, students will work together to create an original mini murder mystery play, from crafting characters and clues to staging dramatic reveals. Showcase your production in a live performance for parents in the final class!

Unleash your inner Glinda and Elphaba on the Ozdust dance floor! Students will work together to create their own dance duets inspired by Wicked's iconic Ozdust dance between Glinda and Elphaba, and learn choreography inspired by the movie and stage renditions of "Dancing Through Life."

Step into the world of K-Pop Demon Hunters and dance to the beat of your favorite soundtrack! Learn about the signature style of K-Pop choreography while building combinations set to the film’s hit songs How It’s Done and Soda Pop. In the final class, students will perform their routine like true K-Pop idols, bringing the energy of a live stage to life!

Learn introductory technique behind unarmed stage combat! In this class, students begin to develop the art of safely performing punches, kicks, falls and fundamentals of attacks and defense. Master dynamic reactions in choreographed fight sequences and wield creativity in the fun of storytelling through combat.

FALL SESSION 2: October 27 - November 22
Sharpen your wit with Shakespeare’s most hilarious burns and clever comebacks! In this class, students will delve into the quick-fire banter of Benedick and Beatrice from Much Ado About Nothing and the blustery misadventures of Falstaff in The Merry Wives of Windsor. Students will learn how to deliver Shakespeare’s language with confidence, rhythm, and comedic timing while creating their own performances packed with sass, satire, and laughs. The final presentation will showcase their best barbed exchanges in a battle of words worthy of the Bard.

Elphaba takes center stage in this dance class all about the wicked witch! Explore through modern dance and creative movement Elphaba's pinnacle song "No Good Deed," and learn choreography inspired by the movie and stage renditions of "No One Mourns The Wicked." It's a perfect build-up to the anticipation of the second movie's November release!

Learn the basics of sword fighting for the stage! Students will develop proper stance, attacks, defenses, and partner awareness with simple practice swords. Present choreographed sequences in the final class that show off your new sword skills like true stage warriors!

If you loved learning How It’s Done and Soda Pop in the first session, get ready to take the stage now with Takedown and Golden. New and returning students welcome! This second session introduces brand-new choreography inspired by the film’s dynamic soundtrack. Students will build on their K-Pop skills with fresh combinations, sharp moves, and performance flair. The class wraps up with a high-energy showcase where dancers perform their routine like true K-Pop idols — whether it’s your encore or your first time joining in!

Explore the art and innovation behind theatrical set design! In this class, students will explore how to break down a script and transform it into a fully realized design, using the Broadway sensation Dear Evan Hansen as their inspiration. From the groundbreaking digital projections of the original Broadway set concept to the creative staging of the West End and even the recent Muny production in St. Louis, students will study multiple productions before crafting their own original vision. Working with both digital tools and paper miniatures, they’ll design a set that captures the technological edge and emotional heart of this modern theatre hit.

Join us for a fun-filled singing adventure with the songs of K-Pop Demon Hunters! This class introduces young singers to good vocal habits and simple stage moves while focusing on the joy of performing to one of the most popular soundtracks out there today. Students will feel like true stars as they sing their favorite songs together in a fun, supportive environment with K-Pop energy and flair!
