Stage Manager Intern

Summary
Stage Manager Interns represent GCPA and its mission by helping achieve high production values in a positive and nurturing environment. Stage Manager Interns assist the Artistic Director, Director, Choreographer, and Music Director in various organizational and practical tasks through all stages of the planning, rehearsal, and performance period. This is an unpaid internship.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Attending production meetings

  • Monitoring and providing support at auditions and the initial cast meeting

  • Preparing space for rehearsal, including placing set pieces and props

  • Taking blocking, music, and choreography notes

  • Tracking attendance

  • Working with director to create and document lighting and sound plot

  • Updating the daily rehearsal report

  • Communicating information to actors, interns, and creative team

  • Assisting with production by calling cues, managing backstage, or other duties

Required Qualifications:

  • A background in at least one performing arts discipline OR

  • A background in management

  • A strong work ethic and a high value on quality design

  • A driver’s license and personal transportation

Desired Skills:

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills

  • Clear and professional communication, both written and oral

  • Leadership and easy rapport with students of all ages

  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure in high-intensity situations

Production Meetings:  TBD
September 6th:  8am-5pm
September 7th:  10am-5pm
September 20th:  12pm-4pm
October 1th-November 22nd:  Wednesdays (4pm-9pm), Saturdays (8am-4pm)
November 23rd:  12pm-4pm
November 24th-25th:  4pm-9pm
December 1st-5th:  4pm-10pm
December 6th-7th:  12pm-10pm

Potential Review Rehearsals
October 12th, October 26th, and November 9th, 12 pm - 4 pm
