We are offering two types of classes this summer:
Summer Conditioning Classes, running 8 weeks on Wednesday nights, for ages 13-18
Summer Pop Up Classes, running Tuesday - Thursday one week at a time, for ages 5-13

Summer Conditioning Classes are for students ages 13-18 who want to stay fresh and keep their skills and technique developing over the summer. Classes focus on strength, stamina, technical skills, recall and retention. These classes require some previous training. Tuition payments are run at registration and again on July 1st and follow our standard tuition scale. Registration fees apply for new students. CLICK HERE for full class payment and policy information.

Intermediate
Continue your journey through the art of performance. Work on dissecting a script and understanding the importance of specific vocal and physical choices in the telling of a story. Then, pivot to interactive exercises and games that teach the fundamentals of scriptless acting and thinking on your feet. This is a BEGINNER+ / INTERMEDIATE level class. Students must have recently completed at least one year of consistent Acting training. Improv experience is preferred but not required for this class. Participation in plays and musicals is not equivalent to Acting training.

Advanced
Deep dive into acting technique at an advanced level to become an intuitive, wholistic and dynamic performer. In this class, students continue script dissection and individualized vocal and physical work toward telling the most authentic and impactful story. Students will also explore the art of improv through challenging exercises and sophisticated games that promote quick thinking, nuanced character development, and complex storytelling. This class is ideal for those seeking to enhance their stage presence, sharpen their comedic timing, and collaborate at a higher level with fellow actors. This is an INTERMEDIATE+ / ADVANCED level class. Students must have recently completed at least two years of consistent Acting training and one year of Improv training. Participation in plays and musicals is not equivalent to training.

Open Level
Acting Styles provides exposure to guest teaching artists every week, leading a master class on various styles of acting. Learn about each style, apply it to enriching your acting process and experience, and try them out in performance. Possible topics may include Clowning, Shakespeare, Film Acting, Lecoq Neutral Masks, Chekhovian Acting, and more! Students may register as a Drop-In at the rate of $30 per class, or sign up for the full summer session. Check back later this spring for a detailed schedule!

Intermediate
Keep your technique toned and refined this summer! GCPA Ballet offers the ideal class for theater performers and committed dancers seeking to build a strong foundation in ballet. This intermediate level Ballet class builds upon fundamental ballet techniques, advancing into more complex combinations, challenging positions, and a nuanced understanding of musicality in performance. Perfect for those who already have a basic grounding in ballet and are eager to enhance their technical skills and deepen their expression through ballet. This is a BEGINNER + / INTERMEDIATE level class. Students must have recently completed at least one year of consistent Ballet training.

This comprehensive advanced class is for ballet dancers striving to elevate their ballet technique to professional levels. Delve deep into sophisticated ballet methodologies, expand on precise terminology, tackle advanced positions, explore complex sequences and choreography, and focus on developing a heightened sense of poise and stage presence. This is an INTERMEDIATE+ / ADVANCED level class. Students must have recently completed at least two years of consistent Ballet training.

Intermediate
Keep your technique toned and refined this summer! Learn the essential concepts, terminology, and steps that form the backbone of musical theatre performance. In the intermediate levels, students will place a larger focus on style from a variety of musical theatre choreographic styles: classic, golden age, and contemporary genres. They will begin to develop increased balance and flexibility, as well as turns, leaps, jumps and kicks. Throughout all musical theatre dance classes, students will develop the ability to tell complex and engaging stories through dance. This is a BEGINNER+ / INTERMEDIATE level class. Students must have recently completed at least one year of consistent Musical Theatre Dance or Jazz training. Participation in musicals is not equivalent to dance training. Intermediate+ / Advanced
This popular dance variations masterclass is available ONLY in the summer and is one of our most anticipated every year! Study a new style with special guest industry artists every week. Themes include lyrical, contemporary, and advanced combinations to popular musical theatre and pop repertoire. More details on styles and instructor lineup available later this spring.

Through warm ups, students will learn to articulate the feet in intermediate-advanced rhythms and patterns. Progression and combinations will teach tap steps that are common in the musical theatre and rhythm tap vocabulary with a strong focus on body position, posture, and expression.This is an BEGINNER+ / INTERMEDIATE level class. Students must have recently completed at least one year of consistent Ballet training.

Keep your technique toned and refined this summer! This class furthers the training of developing tappers that hope to excel into more advanced levels. Through warm ups, students will learn to articulate the feet in advanced rhythms and patterns. Progression and combinations will teach tap steps that are common in the musical theatre and rhythm tap vocabulary with a strong focus on body position, posture, expression, musicality, and storytelling. This class will also place an emphasis on combination retention, helping students to learn to pick up complex tap combinations quickly without sacrificing precision and style. This is an INTERMEDIATE+ / ADVANCED level class. Students must have recently completed at least two years of consistent Tap training.

Pop Up Classes are the perfect way to get your performing arts class fix while leaving room in your schedule for all the fun of summer. Each class runs for just one week, Tuesday through Thursday. Pick up a new skill, enjoy themes you can’t find any other time in the GCPA calendar, and come back week after week for something new - but always just as fun!
60 minute Pop Ups cost $60 for the week and 90 minute Pop Ups cost $90 for the week. Pop Ups are subject to the registration fee for new students. CLICK HERE for full class payment and policy information.
When Broadway meets Hollywood, every performer knows it’s going to be an awesome experience! There are so many movies with amazing soundtracks - from the expansive Disney cannon to the many films that have inspired live theatre adaptations and vice versa. This class will study vocals, scene work and choreography featuring favorites from stage and screen. We’re excited to work on this niche piece of the performing arts world!

This combo class introduces young dancers to the funky moves of hip hop, the rhythm and sounds of tap, and the show-stopping fun of musical theatre dance. Each class is packed with upbeat music, exciting choreography, and playful activities to build confidence and coordination. Whether they’re tapping their toes, busting a move, or striking a Broadway pose, dancers will have a blast learning new skills and expressing themselves on the dance floor.

If you've got some tv-worthy talent, bring it to GCPA! Students will collaborate to create an exciting performance routine, blending singing, dancing, and their unique abilities to wow "the judges" and make their way to stardom. Develop confidence, teamwork, and performance skills while exploring different styles of entertainment. Bring your talent to the "GGT stage" and make some unforgettable summer memories!

Transform your looks and bring characters to life in this hands-on stage makeup Pop-Up class! Learn how to apply various looks to yourself and to other actors. Explore the fundamentals of theatrical makeup including best makeup practices and tools, essential beauty makeup, wounds, bruises and old age skills. Perfect for performers and makeup enthusiasts! Note: Students must purchase their own makeup kit for this class. More details will be communicated prior to the start of class regarding supplies needed.

The magic of Disney meets the Broadway stage! Many beloved Disney films have made their way to live adaptations, and this class will explore some favorites such as Frozen, Tarzan, Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, and more! Sing, dance and build confidence and stage skills while having a blast with your favorite Disney characters and stories.

Inspired by recent Tony Award nominees and winners, in this class students will explore the music, dance and storytelling that make modern musicals shine. Learn selections from 2025 new musicals and revivals such as Death Becomes Her, Boop The Musical, Gypsy and Once Upon A Mattress. Develop acting, singing, and dance skills while working on today's most exciting shows - perfect for young theatre enthusiasts who want to bring the magic of today’s stage to life!

Step into the shadows and embrace the dark side of Broadway! Learn thrilling selections from hauntingly fun musicals like Beetlejuice, Sweeney Todd, The Addams Family, and more. With a focus on vocal storytelling, dramatic movement, and character development, students will explore what makes these spooky shows both chilling and exciting.
Tweens (Ages 11-13) July 15th - 17th 7pm - 8:30pm Instructor: Hannah Owens
Take your acting skills to the next level by learning how to transform your voice with authentic dialects! Students will explore a variety of accents used in theatre and film, from British RP and Cockney to Southern drawls and New York street slang. Through vocal exercises, scene work, and fun improvisational challenges, students will develop the tools to confidently perform with accuracy and authenticity. Students will also be introduced to the basics of phonetics, including the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), to help break down sounds and understand how accents are formed. Whether preparing for a role or just looking to expand your range, this class will help bring characters to life with the power of speech!
