GCPA’S YOUTH THEATRE COMPANY IS CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING
DURING SPRING 2026, SUMMER 2026, FALL 2026, and SPRING 2027.

Summary:

Gateway Center for Performing Arts employs theatre professionals for fall, winter, spring, and summer youth theatre productions. Positions include Directors, Music Directors, Choreographers, Technical Directors, Stage Managers, Costume Designers, Props Designers, Sound Designers, Hair/Make-Up/Wig Designers, Set Designers, Carpenters, Audio Technicians, and Stitchers. All production staff represent GCPA and its mission to students, families, audiences, and the community and play an essential role in creating high-quality youth theatre productions. A list of upcoming productions is available at the bottom of this email.

Responsibilities may include (role dependent):

  • Directing, music directing, choreographing, or stage managing youth theatre productions

  • Designing and executing costumes, props, sets, and sound for productions

  • Providing audio engineering support for rehearsals and performances

  • Constructing, altering, and maintaining costumes, props, and scenic elements as needed

  • Preparing and maintaining production documentation, including schedules, cue sheets, and design plans

  • Collaborating closely with the Artistic Director, production teams, and fellow artists

  • Adhering to production timelines, budgets, and safety standards

  • Adhering to GCPA policies, procedures, and guidelines as outlined in the employee handbook.

Qualifications:

  • Proven proficiency and training in the applicant’s specific discipline

  • Prior experience in theatrical production, preferably in youth or educational theatre

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a deliberate focus on process over product

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Clear, timely, and professional communication

  • Background check required

Compensation:

Competitive compensation is role-dependent and based on experience and scope of work
