Acting is more than just memorizing lines.  It is using the knowledge we have about human psyche and behavior to make words on a page come to life.  in this class, students will begin learning how to dissect a script and understand the importance of specific vocal and physical choices in the telling of a story.

Students in this class will learn the basic principals of acting without a script. Students will participate in group work activities and group performances. Students will also learn how to use improve as their character, without a heavy reliance on a written script during their performances.

Students in this class will learn the basic essential elements of acting and how to apply them during their on-camera performances. During this class, we will compare and contrast acting on film to acting on stage. Students will also learn a newly created acting philosophy, created to help actors dive deeper into their character's lives, understand their character's overall emotional state and to use the information gathered and incorporate it into their on-camera performances.
