JUNE 14TH, JULY 26TH & AUGUST 2ND, 2019
Grades K - 4th

From auditions to curtain, young performers will experience the entire process of putting on a fully staged show. Hone your singing, dancing, and acting skills, learn about staging, sound, lights, set and costumes, and put it all together in a full-scale production of the classic Peter Pan, Jr.!

About The Show

Based on J.M. Barrie's classic tale, Peter Pan is one of the most beloved family favorites of all time. Peter and his mischievous fairy sidekick, Tinkerbell, visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night and, with a sprinkle of pixie dust, begin a magical journey across the stars that none of them will ever forget. In the adventure of a lifetime, the travelers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, a fierce Indian tribe, a band of bungling pirates and, of course, the villainous Captain Hook. Featuring the iconic songs, "I'm Flying," "I've Gotta Crow," "I Won't Grow Up" and "Never Never Land," and a rousing book full of magic, warmth and adventure, Peter Pan JR. is the perfect show for the child in all of us... who dreamed of soaring high and never growing up.

About Our Production

**GCPA is committed to making art that respects and celebrates ALL people, and taking advantage of an artistic platform to inspire positive change in our performers and communities.

To this end, we are very intentionally crafting the way we portray the characters who live in Neverland in our productions of Peter Pan Jr. We chose a version of this production where the character Tiger Lily and her band are now called the Brave Girls, a counterbalance to the Lost Boys. Additionally, with permission from the licensing company, in our production they will be originated as mystical woodland creatures which the actors will create and name themselves. While "Ugg-A-Wugg" is still in this production, the lyrics will be approached as a childhood gibberish language. We will not make any references to Indians, Native Americans, etc. or stereotypes surrounding any culture or people.

We are excited to enter the collaborative process with the actors. This is a unique opportunity to explore creating strong and spirited creatures through imaginative play!
